leslie cargill

foundeR of way to be wellness and yoga, lesliE’S vision is to help individuals and communities achieve a sense of well-being through the freedom found in yoga, movement, mindfulness, and meditation.

As a yoga teacher, Leslie focuses on each student’s unique goals and needs. In yoga, as in her long career in business, she connects with people and brings people together. These combined bring Way to Be’s mission - to enhance the physical and mental health of individuals and groups in our towns, across the state of Maine, and through partnerships around the globe.

30+ years as a communications specialist and marketer in professional sports, the arts, social services, healthcare, tourism and hospitality (Boston Red Sox, United Way, Boston Ballet, RockResorts, Dempsey Center . . . ), Leslie opened Way to Be Wellness and Yoga Collaborative in June 2020, bringing full circle her professional experience and a personal commitment to a healthy lifestyle.

The idea behind Way to Be is to create communities centered on a wholistic approach to fitness and wellness (integrating physical and mental health). “We collaborate with other wellness and like-minded businesses in tourism, hospitality, healthcare, sports and recreation, breaking down barriers to finding wellness and adopting a wellness mindset. While community-focused, there’s a unique plan for each individual’s personal goals, motivation, health, fitness, stage of life, interests and abilities.”

Wellness means something different to each of us and touches all parts of our lives - professional and personal. Through coaching, classes, workshops, and retreats, Way to Be aims to welcome all to our beautiful fresh space in Kennebunk Lower Village. We also bring yoga and wellness to you - in the workplace, around town, at home or on vacation.

Leslie teaches vinyasa flow, yin yoga, mindfulness, and FitOne. She enjoys helping new or returning yogis build a solid foundation for their personal practice.

Leslie completed her 200 hour teacher training on the coast of Portugal with True North Vinyasa and her yin training with Josh Summers in Dublin, Ireland. She is an RYT with Yoga Alliance and completes 500+ hours in December 2022 with her 300 hour advanced teacher training with Down Under Yoga in Boston. Additional study through Yoga Medicine, Inspiro Yoga, Yoga Journal, True North, and other yoga programs keeps knowledge fresh and experience current.

A resident of Cape Porpoise, Leslie is also principal of Cargill + Co. Strategic Communications and Marketing and a partner in Rewind Boston, Stockholm, Lisbon offering custom retreats, events, and workshops in Europe and the US.
